Jewish family Serivices Volunteering

Volunteers are an important and welcome partner of JFSNJ. Men and women, old and young, of kosher meals on wheels all faiths and backgrounds, give of their time, their experience, and their compassion for others to help members of our community. They are essential links between individuals and the community, and represent the very best of our tradition of caring and concern.

JFSNJ volunteers are provided with training, support and supervision. Many have formed long and lasting friendships with their clients.

You can be a part of our caring network of volunteers. We will make every effort to match your schedule and interests with the needs of our clients.

Volunteer Opportunities
•	Friendly Visiting – Provide the homebound with a valuable link to the outside world through their interest, concern, consistency and companionship.
•	Telephone Reassurance – Provide a daily phone call, at a pre-set time, to an isolated, often homebound elderly client, to ensure personal well being.
•	Kosher Meals on Wheels Drivers – Deliver daily kosher meals to homebound, isolated seniors.
•	Volunteer Drivers/Escorts – Accompany seniors to medical appointments or on other essential errands.
•	Administrative Support – Assist in the day-to-day operations of the agency by providing support in the following areas: special projects, clerical tasks (mailings, clerical and receptionist, data entry) and other valued work.
•	Vocational Networking & Mentoring – Volunteers open their hearts, businesses and offices to those searching for jobs or in career transition by mentoring clients as they navigate through these challenging times.
